1st (known) logo
(1985-1993?)
Logo: On a black background, we see pieces of lettering reflecting the sky. Then the pieces join together and forms the HBO logo in shaded orange, with "PICTURES" in dark red with the U and the R connected. Under it are five blue lines under. The logo shines.
FX/SFX: Just good '80s computer animation.
Music/Sounds: Silent.
Availability: Appeared on HBO films during the period.
Scare Factor: Low.
2nd (known) logo
(1993?-1998?)
Logo: On a dark blue and yellow shaded background, we see some drops, like it's raining, then the background changes colour into black and appears a blue HBO logo above one horizontal lines. Under it you can read "PICTURES", also in blue, and the U and the R are connected, like the United Artists logo. Under "PICTURES" there are five horizontal lines, from the biggest to the smallest. The fifth line can't be seen that well. The logo shines twice and disappears.
FX/SFX: The drops, the shining.
Music/Sounds: A dreamy and relaxing jingle.
