Background: In 1994, Steve Ettinger opened the Seattle division of Realtime Associates, which was acquired by Amaze Entertainment in 1999 and renamed Griptonite Games. In 2005, Griptonite was closed, but revived three years later by Foundation 9. In 2009, Amaze itself was closed and merged into Griptonite Games. In August 2011 F9E sold the studio to Glu Mobile.

Logo: We see two red and orange flames with the words "GRIPTONITE" below and "GAMES" below "GRIPTONITE". Below the logo is a byline.

Bylines:
  • 2000-2005: "An Amaze Entertainment Studio"
  • 2008- : "A Foundation 9 Entertainment Studio"

Variants: All games are for GBA or DS.
  • The Princess and the Frog and Percy Jackson & The Lightning Thief: The background is black.
  • High School Musical 3: Senior Year: The background is white.
  • X-Men Origins: Wolverine: The logo has scratches.
  • Daredevil: The background is red.
  • Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa: The background is the beach line.
  • Digimon Racing: The logo has the frame.
  • Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events: The logo is placed into a black-and-white filmstrip.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Common on portable games for Nintendo DS and GBA, like Harry Potter and Chronicles of Narnia series.

Animated Logos


1st Logo
(2009)

Logo: The background is dark blue mist. Many blue lines made of light are drawn, and they form the outline of common Griptonite logo, which appears itself. Static noise come through the logo.

FX/SFX: The glowing lines and static.

Music/Sounds: TBA.

Availability: Extremely rare. It's seen on Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines for PSP.

2nd Logo
(2009, 2011)

Logo: The action appears to be in a cave, where a fire burns, but we cannot see it and only see flying sparks. The logo is written on the wall. The shadow of a beast covers the wall, as the beast pants andGriptonite Games (2009) goes somewhere around. The logo then clears, leaving only sparks, and the regular logo shows for a second.

FX/SFX: Fire and the beastly shadows.

Music/Sounds: Cracking fireplace and the monster's snuffling.

Availability: Where the Wild Things Are, for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Later seen on Sesame Street games for Wii.

3rd Logo
(2006, 2009)

Logo: We see silver letters from the company's name rolling at close-up. They zoom and form the name, and other elements appear around. The logo jumps into the screen, but instantly begins to zoom out, and the Griptonite Games (2006)byline appears.

FX/SFX: Moving letters and parts.

Music/Sounds: TBA.

Availability: Rare. Seen twice on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and X-Men Origins: Wolverine for PSP.

4th Logo
(2009, 2010)

Logo: The word "GRIPTONITE", surrounded with intense blue-toned light, comes to the screen. The light spot moves through the word and then colored flames are created above, first resembling the sun, as they're so bright, but then transforming into usual figures. The small box with "GAMES" fly from the right side, and the byline appears.

FX/SFX: Light animation.

Music/Sounds: Short fanfare.

Availability: Rare. First seen on Princess and the Frog, later appears on Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet for Xbox360 and PS3.

Logo: Many peak points grow from a blue air, as we zoom out, and the air becomes orange, and then the logo forms. Some characters and beings are shown on the surface of peaks. The logo glows. It has GRIPTONITE written in silver.

FX/SFX: High class CGI. Better than any previous animations.

Music/Sounds: Some sizzling as the peaks pass by, followed with a short fanfare.

Availability: Rare. Appeared on Kung Fu Panda 2 and Marvel's Comic Combat.
