1st Logo
(1980's-????)
Logo: The screen is covered in flames. We zoom out, and it turns out that the flames are in one of Medusa's eyes (you can either see through the back of her head, or they're just very reflective). Medusa blinks a few times, the snakes on her head wiggling away, before sticking her tongue out of her fanged mouth. We zoom out some more, and the words "GORGON VIDEO", in red and orange, zoom in. A purple plaque comes from behind Medusa's head, joining with the words and head. Medusa sticks out her tongue once again.
FX: The whole thing looks to be early CGI.
Cheesy Factor: The snakes are just hilarious - they look more cute than scary. Not to mention the fact that Medusa is ugly enough to turn you to stone.
Music/Sounds: Fire and Gregorian chanting. A bit of wind when the Medusa head zooms out. Some sort of synth "hissing" noise when Medusa sticks out her tongue. And, finally, a light thud when the purple plaque joins with words and head.
Availability: Uncommon. They were a distributor of many B-movies, including the "Faces of Death" series. The logo is apparently kept on some DVD's.
Scare Factor: High; the flames, music, close-up on Medusa, and dark mood should terrify many children, but children probably shouldn't be watching their movies, anyway.
