1st Logo
(1942-1977, 1985, 2011-)

Gemini Studios (1942)Gemini Pictures (1948)Gemini (1953, Tamil version)Gemini Pictures (1968)Gemini Pictures (1969)Gemini (2011)

Logo: Two identical children, each holding a trumpet and wearing nothing but underwear, are standing on what appears to be a pedestal with "GEMINI" written in English, Hindi or Tamil (depending on the movie) and decorated lines next to each kids/Gemini. The statue turns around, facing the viewers. All of this is set on a turntable with the cloud background behind it.

Variants:
  • Avvaiyar: The stool is different. In addition, we see the landscape of a jungle, because of the palm trees at the left and some Hindi temples ath the right. In addition, the name of the company is in Tamil.
  • Nandanaar: The stool covers the foot of the kids, and below "GEMINI", we see "Presents" in script.

Trivia: This logo is actually a baby model of the Gemini twins, Caster and Pollux, together known as "Dioskori". The company name was named after a happy-go-lucky/ always-winning race horse called "Gemini" because the founder, S.S Vasan, was involved in a horse racing event.

FX/SFX: The statue rotating.

Music/Sounds: A trumpet fanfare.

Availability: Seen on films like Chandralekha, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnVf9oyE-iA" target="_self">Zindagi</a>, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fAG9HHeik4" target="_self">Paisa Ya Pyaar</a>, <a href="https://youtu.be/X6fEi_WWADE?t=12" target="_self">Kutty(as a DI & Visual Effects)</a>, Teen Bahuraniyan ("Three Daughters-in-law"), <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlBi8-S-ri0" target="_self">Thupakki</a>, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yj_L6l_K5jo" target="_self">Janani</a> or<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6nBNSlN6ck" target="_self">Vilaiyattu Pillai</a>. Overall, it's indescribable, seeing its random appearance.

2nd Logo
(2004-)

Gemini Film Circuit (2004)
Gemini Film Circuit (Telugu, 2005)

Logo: Filmstrips are flying with a grid of the Gemini statue on a moving blue mist background. When we zoom to the last frame after around three-four seconds, a grid Gemini statue transmogrified into a sliver picture of it and turns around for a few seconds. Then it sets up to face the northeast direction, as opposite to facing the viewers at the first logo. "GEMINI FILM CIRCUIT" flashes in for 2-4 seconds, then "ஜெமினி பிலிம் சர்க்யூட்" or "జెమిని ఫిలిం సర్క్యూట్" flashes back, being these texts the translations in Tamil and Telugu (respectively) of the previous text. It sits until the music's finish, and the background is still moving.

FX/SFX: It's a good CGI logo. The grid rendition of the statue is a little too-more cliche, but we can pass the cliche for its good animation.

Music/Sounds: A majestic fanfare, coming with the rendition of the previous trumpet music, this time played on a synth trump. Between the first section is a synth shooting stock effect. After the synth trump, there goes another synth stock effect, then a synth majestic finish. Overall, a mix of orchestral and synth.

Availability: Quite rare, actually. This is the "new" Gemini Pictures, since the "original" was abandoned because of its flopped movie "Ellorum Nallavare" that decreased Gemini's fortune, resulting in being held by Anand Cine Service. It was revived to life in 2004, using both this and the previous logo in later movies after 2005, in tandem with the first logo. Seen on <a href="https://youtu.be/5EznKi58wTA?t=21" target="_self">Shankar Dada MBBS</a>, <a class="external" href="http://www.veoh.com/watch/v20955645BqYFBFe2" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Vasool Raja MBBS</a>, <a class="external" href="http://www.einthusan.com/movies/watch.php?id=614" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Nanban</a>, Podda Podi, and Kandaiare. As a distributor, no logo appears since they weren't involved in the films. The Telugu version has been seen on the Telugu dubbed version of <a href="https://youtu.be/qqOiWw0va8E?t=10" target="_self">Aaru</a> ("Six").
