Logo Pictures by Eric S. and Others

1st Logo
(Early 1980s)

Fox/Lorber Distribution

Logo: On a black background, a weird-looking symbol with two squares (that almost resembles a computerized "8", but is actually intended to look like a filmstrip) and the words "FOX/LORBER" in black with a glowing blue line through the middle spin and flip in with residue-trailing effects. When finished, "DISTRIBUTED BY", in a red font, and at an angle, flies in from the right of the screen, then straightens itself out. The logo stays on screen for about 5 seconds.

FX/SFX: The zooming and flipping.

Cheesy Factor: Well, the animation is pretty good for the early 1980s, but "DISTRIBUTED BY" straightens itself out very choppily.

Music/Sounds: A synth whoosh, then a "DING" as the letters straighten themselves out.

Availability: N/ARare. Seen at the end of Fox/Lorber prints of Lone Star Films.

Scare Factor: Low to medium, mainly because of that unexpected "DING".

2nd Logo
(Mid-Late 1980s)

Logo: On a black background, we see the chyroned in words " FOX LORBER HOME VIDEO", with " HOME VIDEO" in a rectangle. Different colors flash in it throughout.

FX/SFX/Cheesy Factor: Bad, bad chyon.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: N/A

Scare Factor: None, but it is boring.

3rd Logo
(Late 1980s)

Fox Lorber Home Video

Logo: On a black background, we see a red rectangle, in 3D, revealing itself and rotating to face us, while the blue words "FOX LORBER" pop out of it, letter by letter. Once both the rectangle and the words face the viewer, "HOME VIDEO" flashes in the red rectangle. Then "A WinStar Communications Company" fades in underneath.

FX/SFX: Primitive 3D effects, but not bad for its time.

Cheesy Factor: The way "HOME VIDEO" flashes in looks cheap and abrupt.

Music/Sounds: A wind tune with a pounding backbeat, then a samurai-like wind instrument sounder.

Availability: N/A

Scare Factor: None to low.
