Logo descriptions and captures by Logoboy95 and Eric S.
Editions by V of Doom
Background: Castle Rock Entertainment was founded in 1987 by Martin Shafer, director Rob Reiner, Andy Scheinman, Glenn Padnick and Alan Horn, with Columbia Pictures as a strategic partner and subsidiary originally. However, this company did not use a logo until 1989, when When Harry Met Sally... released. It is currently a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Entertainment.
1st Logo
(1989-1994)
Nicknames: "The Lighthouse", "The Light Tower"
Logo: Over a range backdrop, we see a blue light in the lighthouse, with a house stucked onto it together. A white sun rises up from the bottom of the range, and when a blue light moves to right, we reveal the plain white words "CASTLE ROCK
ENTERTAINMENT" on the bottom of the screen. A blue light then disappears when the logo is finished.
FX: The sun rises up, the "CASTLE ROCK ENTERTAINMENT" text appearing.
Music/Sounds: A twenty-one note low tune, followed by high five bell-like notes. This tune was composed by Marc Shaiman.
Availability: On Castle Rock releases from 1989-1993.
Scare Factor: None whatsoever. This is a clean and cute logo.
2nd Logo
(1994-)

Nicknames: "CGI Lighthouse", "CGI Light Tower"
Logo: Identical to the previous logo, but it is only in CGI. We see a yellow light on a black background, then the background fades to a blue/orange gradient sky with water to reveal a lighthouse and a house. The yellow light turns from left to right while the plain light orange sun rises up and sweeps out the words "CASTLE ROCK ENTERTAINMENT" in a plain yellow font below the lighthouse. The company name now zooms out from the bottom of the screen. The light disappears when the lighthouse and the company name stays on the logo.
Bylines: Below it, one of these four bylines fade in below the logo:
Variants:
FX: The lighthouse and the company name zoom-out.
Cheesy Factor: The byline "A TURNER COMPANY" chryoned in is very rough, although the bylineless version was seen on Waiting for Guffman, but this is lots of cool stuff.
Music/Sounds: Same as last logo. Since 1996, a more re-orchestrated and dramatic-sounding version is used.
Availability: Current.
Scare Factor: None at all.
