Background: Bagdasarian Productions is a production company which holds the rights to Alvin and the Chipmunks and related intellectual property assets. It is owned and operated by Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. and Janice Karman. It is the successor to Bagdasarian Film Corporation, which was owned and founded by the late Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise creator and renaissance man Ross Bagdasarian, Sr. (also known as David Seville).

(1961-1962)
Nicknames: "B-a-g-d-a-s-a-r-i-a-n", "E-I-E-I-O"
Logo: We see a black rectangle against a red BG. The words "A PRESENTATION OF" (in white) are seen above it. Then the letters "Bagdasarian" appear one-by-one in rainbow colors with a purple dot above the "i" to the beat of the music. The words "FILM CORPORATION" appear below it (also in white).
Variant: A earlier variant of this logo is in Black and White.
FX/SFX: The letters appearing.
Music/Sounds: A fanfare sounding similar to "Old MacDonald" that plays to the beat of the letters appearing.
Availability: Seen only on the short-lived cartoon The Alvin Show.
Scare Factor: None to minimal; it's a favorite of many.

1st Logo
(1981-1985)
Logo: Bagdasarian Productions did not have a logo until 1984; only a superimposed text that said "BAGDASARIAN PRODUCTIONS" or "Produced in association with BAGDASARIAN PRODUCTIONS" to blend in with the closing credits.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the show.
Availability: Extremely rare. Can be seen on the first three seasons of Alvin and the Chipmunks and the 1981 Christmas television special A Chipmunk Christmas. It can be also seen on The Chipmunks Valentine Special. This logo is preserved on the 2006 Paramount DVD release of A Chipmunk Christmas. From 1984 until 1985, this was seen in tandem with the 2nd logo. This was plastered with the 2nd logo on syndicated airings of Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Scare Factor: None.
2nd Logo
(1984-1989)
Logo: Against a pink/yellow gradient BG, we see Alvin, Simon and Theodore try to hold up the word "BAGDASARIAN" in silver "bubble" letters (Alvin, standing in the center, is only using one hand, and Theodore and Simon are trying their hardest to hold it up) as they stand on "PRODUCTIONS", also written in the same font. Over them is "PRODUCED BY" (or "PRODUCED IN ASSOCIATION WITH" from 1984-1987) in black. In the early years, the background is colored light cream. In the later years, a copyright notice appears in black or white.
Variant: After the closing credits of The Chipmunk Adventure, a still version of this logo slowly fades in. It is the same as above, except for the background, which is colored royal blue. However, there is a continuation to the copyright credits: the logo remains on screen for 8 seconds, then the entire logo dims, causing the logo to turn to black and the background dark blue, then the logo dims even more, causing the background to turn black.
FX/SFX: None, but sometimes the Chipmunks are animated trying to hold up the logo.
Music/Sounds: Same as the previous logo.
Availability: Currently seen on Alvin and the Chipmunks on Teletoon Retro in Canada. The early variant can be still seen on The Alvinnn!!! Edition DVD box set from Paramount Home Entertainment. From 1984 until 1985, it appeared in tandem with the 1st logo above. It also plasters over the 1st Logo on syndicated airings of Alvin and the Chipmunks on Cartoon Network and Boomerang. It was last seen in the US when Cartoon Network reran said show in the early 2000's.
Scare Factor: None to low, as this precedes the Ruby-Spears or DiC logo.
3rd Logo
(1989-1995) 
Logo: Against a red/blue gradient BG with many sparkles, the Chipmunks are seen holding up the word "BAGDASARIAN" in multiple colors (with Alvin standing on one foot). They are standing on the word "PRODUCTIONS" (in purple). Both words are written in two different fonts. A blue copyright notice is written in the bottom left corner.
Variant: Sometimes, the copyright notice is not shown.
FX/SFX: Same as the previous logo.
Music/Sounds: Same as the previous logos.
Availability: Seen only on later episodes of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Still seen on the current Paramount DVD releases of The Chipmunks Go to the Movies.

Ya postee en Youtube del vídeo original con la nueva capturadora los dos fragmentos en 640x480, en dias el fotograma del crédito de inicio en CLG. At the 0:23 mark is the 1987 version of the logo, seen in the shows' 5th season. Also, a few corrections and additions should be made. The first logo was used from 1981-1984. I don't think the first version was ever used on season 2. Also, the version that said "PRODUCED BY" on top of the logo was used in syndicated reruns of seasons 1-5. The version with the white copyright notice on the bottom, was used on the first 11 episodes of season 6, which were also the only episodes to be animated by Wolf Productions. The version with the black copyright notice on the bottom was used on the season 6 episodes that were animated by DiC. Finally, the 3rd logo was also seen on "Rockin' with the Chipmunks", "Trick or Treason", "A Chipmunk Celebration", and "The Easter Chipmunk". |
