Australian Video
Editions by mr3urious
Video by PalaceRoadshow
(c. 1983-c. 1985)

Nickname: "The Token and Flag", "The Aussie Anthem"
Logo: Stars zoom out against a starry blue/black background. Then, an object that appears to be a token turns into place, which has the flag of Australia above it. The token reads "Australian Video" printed on it (with "Australian" being in a typewriter font and "Video" in Arial font). There is also a couple of lines above it (looking similar to the current WWE logo) and a difficult-to-read byline below it. A star then draws a white line around the logo before it fades out.
Variant: At the end of tapes, this logo plays while an announcer says "Be sure to watch more Australian previews coming up right after this movie.".
FX: The stars zooming out, and the logo turning into place.
Music/Sounds: A synthesized "whoosh", then, a series of warbly synth notes repeat for the remainder of the logo as what sounds like a synth version of Australia's unofficial national anthem (Waltzing Matilda) is heard. The end variant uses a beeping synth fanfare.
Availability: On old PBV tapes. Can also be found on CEL tapes as well.
Scare Factor: Medium for the zoom-out part, since it's at a fast pace. None for the end variant.
