Ízaro films (Spain)
Logo description by bigladiesman
Logo capture and video courtesy of DwightFry78
Background: Ízaro films was a company based in Madrid that gained popularity thanks to the production and distribution of low-budget comedy and exploitation films. They were, among other things, the exclusive distributors of Cannon Films in Spain. In 1997, the company ceased business (apparently their last distributions were the films "Buddy" and "Gattaca") , and the rights of their own productions belong nowadays to Manga Films, and the Cannon library to the Spanish section of MGM. Check imdb for more details (http://www.imdb.com/company/co0052678/).
1st (perhaps only) Logo
(1958?-1997)
Nickname: "Ízaro island"
Logo: We see a live action island (Izaro island, in Bermeo, Basque Country) filmed in different angles. The last angle (a front view with a zoom-in) is accompanied by the name of the company in gold, carved letters. Sometimes, the word "PRESENTA" would appear just below the name in a Far West-like font.
FX: Just the text fading in.
Cheesy Factor: Everything!!! The images are blurry, the edits are choppy, the camera angles are lame, and the letters just appear. Also, when "PRESENTA" appears, it looks it's been cheaply chyroned.
Music: A dramatic, adventurous fanfare which I think has been taken from a movie.
Availability: I think it's extinct. However, it does show up on TV sometimes when one of Ízaro's productions is aired.
Scare Factor: Low; the cheapness of the logo and the fanfare can startle some viewers, but it's a great favourite of the Spanish audience.
